School Visits

At Kids Invent Stuff, we’re passionate about showing children that their ideas matter. Through our YouTube channel, invention videos and hands-on STEAM activities, we inspire young people to think creatively, solve problems and see themselves as inventors. Every year, we work face-to-face with more than 20,000 children in schools, at festivals and at events across the UK – and we’d love to bring that experience to your school too!
From exciting assemblies and invention workshops to curriculum-linked activities and prototype building, our visits are designed to spark imagination, build confidence and get children thinking differently about creativity, engineering and innovation. Get in touch today to book a Kids Invent Stuff school visit and inspire the next generation of inventors.

What can Kids Invent Stuff offer to my school?

We provide a range of engaging and educational options to inspire your students:

Inspiring Assemblies

Ideal for whole schools, this interactive workshop experience begins with an inspiring, high-energy assembly where we introduce what Kids Invent Stuff is all about, demonstrate some of our favourite inventions, and set the children their very own invention challenge.

After the assembly, each class will receive a visit from a member of our team to answer questions, explore ideas and help students develop their inventions through creative thinking and design.

At the end of the workshop, we’ll take the children’s ideas back to our workshop and one invention could even be brought to life and featured on our YouTube channel.

Bespoke Curriculum-Based Workshops

All of our workshops begin with the whole-school assembly outlined above, alongside a shared invention challenge designed to inspire creativity and problem-solving across every year group. We offer a wide range of hands-on workshops, with some examples below, and can also create bespoke sessions tailored to specific topics, themes or curriculum areas.

Bring science to life with this hands-on, team-based workshop! Students will design, build and “weld” chocolate structures, putting their problem-solving, creativity and resilience to the test.

This workshop links perfectly to the Year 1, Year 2 and Year 5 science curriculum on the properties of materials, or can be delivered as a fun, end-of-term team-building challenge.

We offer two exciting space-themed workshops inspired by our Robot Chicken mission to space.
In the first workshop, children explore aerodynamics and the power of air as fuel. They will create straw rockets, build a human solar system and launch their rockets as they learn how objects move through space.

The second workshop focuses on fizzy rockets, where children investigate chemical reactions to create their own rocket launches. This session is a little messy but full of excitement and hands-on learning!

In this hands-on, creative workshop, children will explore the world of plants and nature by making their own wildflower cannons, which they can then launch to help spread seeds.

The session links directly to both KS1 and KS2 science topics on plants, including how plants grow, seed dispersal and the importance of wildflowers for supporting biodiversity and pollinators. Children will learn how seeds travel and grow while taking part in an engaging, outdoor-friendly activity that combines science, creativity and environmental awareness.

This is a hands-on workshop that introduces children to the prototyping stage of inventing. Using Makedo tools, cardboard, other recyclable and craft materials, they will design and build a prototype based on their invention idea.

This workshop runs for 1 hour per class (up to 30 children).

Resources

We’ve created a range of free, curriculum-linked resources that can be used alongside our YouTube videos to enhance young children’s learning.
